Our Recovery Innovation programme will develop your innovation skills and capability to create new products, services, processes or a new business model in response to the impact of Covid and Brexit.

Delivered by our team of university business innovation experts, this flexible series will build your knowledge and confidence to drive innovation in your business. 

It will give you the tools you need to become resilient and agile, providing you with a competitive advantage for the future. 

University expertise to support your new business development 

  • This workshop will go through the activities and decisions needed to progress new ideas into value for your business.  
  • Through exploring new strategies, you will create a roadmap which identifies how to most effectively use the resources available to you for maximum return on investment.  
  • Our Innovation expert Dr George Tsekouras will support your new business development ideas and share insights into the critical steps to help deliver a winning innovation strategy, saving valuable resources and time. 

Workshop content

By reviewing the important questions, strategic challenges and critical issues involved in new business development the workshop will cover; 

  • Scoping new ideas  
  • Developing new business lines  
  • Undertaking market research 
  • Positioning new products & services  
  • Exploring economic and external drivers 
  • Identifying internal strengths and experiences

Workshop led by innovation expert Dr. George Tsekouras

Dr George Tsekouras is Director of the Centre of Change, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (CENTRIM) at the University of Brighton. George has worked with SMEs and researching innovation for the last two decades focusing on the management and support of innovation in SMEs. He created the peer-to-peer action learning programme Profitnet and has delivered many seminars and workshop to SMEs across the world.

Guest speaker: Joanna Hunter #Chief Piglet at Piglets Pantry, Worthing. Jo will be sharing how she and her team undertook a complete business model ‘pivot’ during the pandemic.

Who should attend?

This workshop is suitable for business owners or those driving forward innovation in small or medium sized business. The workshop is an introduction to managing innovation so no prior knowledge of innovation projects is required.

EDRF eligibility rules apply. Spaces will be prioritised for West Sussex based businesses.

Eligibility and how to book

This workshop is FREE to attend if you have joined the RISE project – either as a friend or member.

The workshop applies to not-for-profit ventures as long as there is a trading arm.

RISE members will receive a RISE Recovery Innovation Certificate of Attendance when they complete 12 hours or more workshop time or support from the RISE project. Please note this is not accredited Continuous Personal Development.
