Our Horizons programme is a series of inspiring, thematic and sector specific workshops, created to share cutting edge research and insights to help develop innovative approaches that will enable you to build resilience to national and global challenges within your business.
Our second session of the Horizons Supply Chain Management series offers a practical introduction to waste management principles and techniques and guidance on how to implement these within a business environment. The over-arching aim of this workshop is to improve your productivity, business resilience and drive towards sustainability by reducing or generating value from waste.
Workshop outcomes:
In this workshop, you will learn about the concept of waste from a process innovation and sustainability perspective, in addition to the tools and techniques available to support you with continuous improvement in your business.
This workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills to help you to innovate your waste management processes, and identify opportunities to generate value from waste through industrial symbiosis.

Innovation Call for Supply Chain Management projects
We invite businesses to submit proposals on R&D ideas that address their supply chain challenges and access up to £5,000 worth of university expertise to develop the project. Funding can support the development of a new product, service, or process..
RISE members will receive a RISE Horizons Innovation Certificate of Attendance when they complete 12 hours or more of workshop time or support from the RISE project. Please note that this workshop is not accredited for Continuous Personal Development.
